What should you wear to your Reformer Pilates class and what should you bring?

We are pretty chill here at Kaiyō Pilates - no need for fancy active wear, just wear comfortable clothing that you can easily move in.We prefer not to have shoes on our beautiful machines, so you have the option of practicing with socks or barefoot. To be prepared for your class, all you need to bring is yourself, a water bottle and a big smile 😀 (grippy socks are fun too but they're not mandatory!).

Can I still join a class if I have pain or an injury?

Yes! You can still join classes as long as you're not presenting with any obvious red flags and have been cleared by your Doctor.

Just ensure you inform our Instructor prior to the start of class so that they are able to guide you through the class and offer support where needed.

I'm new to Pilates, do you offer private classes to learn the basics before joining a group class?

Yes! You can definitely book a Private class to familiarise yourself with the exerices before joining a Group Class!

However, we don't think it's necessary.

Our classes are kept small and intimate (max 4 people per class) to allow our skilled instructors to provide proper guidance and support to all our clients, whether you are just starting out or looking for some extra challenge & spice!

How long does it take to see results with Pilates?

We recommend attending Pilates classes at least 2 times a week for at least 6 weeks to see a noticeable, positive change in your body including increase in strength, reduction in pain and boost in energy levels!

I'm pregnant, can I still come to a class

Congratulations on your pregnancy!

All our classes are Prenatal friendly and all our instructors are familiar with current guidelines for exercising whilst pregnant.

Our classes are small and intimate (with a max of 4 people per class) to allow our skilled instructors to provide you with the proper guidance and support you need during your pregnancy.

The ACSM guidelines for physical activity recommends 150 minutes of moderate intensity cardio exercise or 75 minutes of vigorous intensity cardio exercise per week and 2-3 days per week of resistance training.

Congratulations on your baby!!

You are able to join classes, private or group, as long as you have been cleared by your doctor to return to exercise.
